According to rumours in France, PSG has made an offer to recruit Antonio Rudiger when his Chelsea contract ends this summer.

After reaching an impasse in contract negotiations with the Blues, Rudiger, 28, is scheduled to become a free agent at the conclusion of the season.

Real Madrid appeared to be the frontrunners to sign him on a free transfer in July, but new reports in Spain suggest that negotiations between the two parties have hit a snag.

According to Foot Mercato, PSG is now hoping to beat Real Madrid to the signing of the Germany defender this summer.

According to reports, the French club has offered Rudiger £6 million a year to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side, with sports director Leonardo doing everything he can to beat Los Blancos to the signing.

Despite his apparent preference for the Bernabeu, Rudiger may be forced to switch his focus to the Parc des Princes after failing to reach an agreement with Madrid.

Chelsea are still trying to sign him to a new contract before the end of the season, with manager Thomas Tuchel anxious to keep his star centre-back.

Since Tuchel’s arrival at Stamford Bridge in January 2021, Rudiger has been a major component of Tuchel’s backline, helping the Blues win the Champions League last season.

‘I can’t forecast the future, and I don’t know if (Rudiger’s) representatives are talking to other teams or not,’ Tuchel said last month.

‘Of course, it’s possible; it’s January, and he hasn’t signed a new deal with us yet, but we’re talking to him, and the club is talking to his representatives.’
